You can find unique and few-of-a-kind women's clothes created by more than 70 local and national designers - all discounted 50 to 90% off retail prices.

Working closely with a growing network of volunteers and partners, Second Chances involves the community in helping neighbors, connecting with other community members and preserving the environment.

We're thrilled to be holding two clothing drives again this year at the gorgeous and welcoming Somerville Community Growing Center. Please join us on Wednesday, June 20th and Wednesday, September 19th, from 5 to 7 p.m. both evenings. Details soon!

Volunteer opportunities

We've got several in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities including: help promote these and future events; take photos at our events; create a fillable Adobe Acrobat file from a Word file; lend a hand at our Growing Center clothing drives; coordinate a clothing drive at home, school, work, or in your community; and so much more! Happy 2012!

I wanted to start the new year by thanking you all - thanks for checking in here, attending our events, donating to support others in our community, volunteering your time and skills, sending me great ideas and encouragement, and so much more. I sincerely hope that 2012 is a happy, healthy year for all of you.

2011 was a terrific year at Second Chances, and 2012 is already off to a great start! We started the year by finding out that Second Chances was awarded a grant from Tufts University's Neighborhood Service Fund. [Details and other Somerville grantees here.] This generous grant will help us provide free clothing to people receiving shelter and services in Somerville.

We have a lot in the works for 2012 including June and September public clothing drives in Somerville, some kind of fundraising/social event this winter, and several new partnerships that will benefit both the people we serve and the other service providers we work with.
